PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Harmony Natural Learning Center is seeking a qualified teacher or lead teacher to join our Preschool Program for the 2024-2025 school year, and possible occasional substituting and training during the remainder of the 2023-24 school year. Flexible orientation schedule to begin at candidate’s availability between May and July 2024.
Harmony’s Preschool program, for children ages 3 - 4½, offers opportunities for children to build independence and nurture their curiosities. The importance of community is built through gathering times, ample independent play, exploration, and social time both indoors and outdoors in our Big Backyard. A low, 1:6 teacher/student ratio in the Preschool Program offers each child unprecedented support through the process of separation, emotional self-regulation, and impulse control while fostering social learning, building strong relationships, and introducing intellectual concepts of literacy, pre-writing, and numeracy.
QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate possesses a contagious love for education in the early years, enjoys nurturing young children’s innate curiosity, has extensive experience working with preschoolers, and is certified as a preschool teacher by the MA Department of Early Education and Care. Experienced, non-certified candidates interested in pursuing certification and/or a career in early childhood will also be considered, and are encouraged to apply.
The Preschool Teacher must ensure the safety and well-being of the children, provide a nurturing, consistent, developmentally appropriate environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs of young children, develop and maintain family relationships, be highly organized and flexible, take direction well, be self-motivated, collaborate with the teaching team, take part in continuous professional development, and have a strong desire to support the philosophy of the school.

T/Th 8:00am—2:00pm
Harmony is closed on all major holidays and for school vacations.

Harmony serves children ages 2-6 and follows a school year calendar with a reduced-hour summer session.
