Harmony Natural Learning Center is seeking a qualified Teacher and Assistant Teacher to join our Transitional Preschool Program for the 2024-2025 school year, and possible occasional substituting and training during the remainder of the 2023-24 school year. Flexible orientation schedule to begin at candidate’s availability between May and July 2024.
Transitional Preschool at Harmony offers children ages 2-3 a gentle opportunity to gain independence and practice Preschool rhythms. Our classroom features small group learning communities with consistent teachers and peers. The importance of community is impressed through gathering times, making fresh-baked bread, ample independent play, exploration, and social time both indoors and outdoors in our Toddler Garden. A 1:3 teacher/student ratio in Transitional Preschool offers each child unprecedented support through the process of separation, emotional self-regulation, and impulse control, while fostering social learning and building strong relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate for each role possesses a contagious love for teaching in the early years, enjoys nurturing young children’s innate curiosity, has experience working with toddlers, and is certified as an infant/toddler teacher by the MA Department of Early Education and Care. (Experienced, non-certified candidates are encouraged to apply if interested in pursuing certification.)
The Transitional Preschool Teacher and Assistant Teacher must ensure the safety and well-being of the children, provide a nurturing, consistent, developmentally appropriate environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs of young children, develop and maintain family relationships, collaborate with the teaching team, take part in continuous professional development, and have a strong desire to support the philosophy of the school.

M 8:00am - 5:00pm
T/Th 8:00am - 1:00pm
W/F 8:00am - 3:00pm
Harmony is closed on all major holidays and for school vacations.
2024 SUMMER SCHEDULE
June 25 - August 15, 2024 (closed the week of July 4)
T/Th 8:00am - 1:00pm

ABOUT HARMONY NATURAL LEARNING CENTER
Harmony Natural Learning Center is located on the North Shore of Massachusetts in the picturesque town of Newbury. Harmony serves children ages 2-6 and follows a school year calendar with a reduced-hour summer session.
